DESIGN-CENTRIC SOLUTION

BRAND VISION
The Cruisin' for a Bruisin' [CB] brand vision is to empower parents to educate young drivers to wisely and safely handle emotional hazards on the road. Using VR technology, the simulator creates a road rage driving education environment where teenagers and parents can interact safely.
The CB brand personality is educational, family, friendly, fun, approachable, engaging, and practical.
To effectively communicate the design-centric solution includes researching the meanings of traffic sign shapes, colors, types, and design styles; logos; and dashboard design. Ideation sketches, and final developed visual solutions are introduced below.

A typeface can effectively induce readers’ interest and motivation. In the design-centric research process, this researcher identified the font most appropriate for the concept of the CB project
TYPOGRAPHY
Clearview Hwy is a sans-serif typeface family for guide signs on roads in the United States. In the CB project, this researcher uses the Clearview Hwy typeface for the headline. Clearview Hwy typeface was invented in order to address the readability issues of Sans Serif fonts in traffic signs such as DIN standard series Frutiger, Universal, and Syntax.

Due to its legibility, the physical exhibition, website, and design-centric solution use Helvetica Neue as a body copy typeface. Eduard Hoffmann created Helvetica in Switzerland in 1957, and in 1983 Helvetica Nenu was released with better kerning and heavier punctuation marks to improve digital legibility Helvetica represents Swiss design, and numerous companies use it for their logo and advertising (Cantavalle).

Virtual Reality (VR)
Smartphone Simulation App
It simulates real-world aggressive driving hazards for teenage drivers and helps parents teach them to cope with road rage and thus share the road safely with others.
It's simple!
Teenage drivers wear smartphone cardboard VR viewer headsets to play simulations and drive with a Bluetooth-connected steering wheel.
THE APP

Avatar
When a simulation player sees their avatar, they feel connected to the virtual world with a real identity, which motivates them to achieve their goals.

Learning analytics
Learning analytics (e.g., levels and points) significantly enhance students’ self-awareness, motivation, and participation.

Gamification
Gamification improves athletic ability and self-esteem while simultaneously providing challenges, motivation, and excitement
The Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’ VR simulation app is a tool to improve student learning and enhance communication between parents and student drivers, and each icon in the simulation induces interest and provides accessible and productive communication based on the typeface above and colors.
How does CB differ from other VR simulations?
INTERACTIVE!
Parents interact with and educate student drivers through the CB app to prevent road rage and cope with aggressive driving situations to make better decisions. Moreover, the CB app allows students to develop skills safely and economically without exposing them to risk.
